Sorry I haven’t posted in awhile, I have been waiting to get the photos off my very unreliable photographer. This is the outfit I wore out last Friday night and spent all Friday day making. As I have perviously expressed my current liking towards sportswear I decided to play with this trend again yet personalise it slightly, hence the tie dye. So basically I spent my Friday tie dying, I wish I had taken some photos of the process so I could do alittle “how to” post but I ran out of time. I first decided to tie dye the t-shirt but because I was having so much fun I chucked a pair of socks in the dye as well. I chose pink dye to create a contrast with the masculine feel of the t-shirt. I enjoyed how the two matched so I wore them together and decided to keep the rest of the outfit colourless. The shorts are a pair of bather bottoms which came in a set, I’ll soon post a outfit wearing the bikini top. I found the shear black cardigan like duster at savers years ago, I liked it because it reminded me of something a witch would wear but I never really found the correct outfit to wear it with until now. Even through it clearly doesn’t cover the huge amount of leg I have exposed I think it helps reduce the appearance of bare skin. I wanted to do something fun and festive with the accessories so I last minute DIY-ed a nose chain out of some old materials I had around the house left over from my jewellery making years and the necklace is from a labelled called Zap. Zap jewellery sells handmade necklaces and is stocked in Melbourne and Byron Bay. We only has about 10 minutes to take these photos so I apologise for the quality, I tried to fix them up in photoshop but as you can see I just ended up going a little over the top with the rotation tool..

Not at all, if you read my intro I stated that I get my clothing inspiration from a range of different sources and I wouldn’t define my style under one particular category.
haha, I don’t know about that.. but thanks!
Thankyou :) I will probably be doing one to two posts per week!
I am always in search of vintage kimonos, I love their silhouette and ability to be layered. Japanese culture definitely influences a large proportion of my outfits particularly Harajuku girls and traditional Geisha’s.
So last week when I came across a stall at the Camberwell market that was selling them for $25 I was extremely pleased especially due to the fact that majority of kimonos I have come across in the past are $100 +..
There was a selection of maybe 10 to choose from but the one I purchased was by far my favourite. The sparkly textured midnight blue fabric with the contrasting pink embroidered patterns was subtle yet would still create a statement when worn..ALSO it matches my hair!!!
I can’t wait to actually wear it out and do a proper outfit post but I was just too excited that I had to quickly post a picture up!
I had a real debate with myself as to whether I should make this outfit post, not because I don’t like the outfit or wouldn’t wear it out but because camo is everywhere these days. I questioned what was special about this outfit and what was i bringing to the table. I came to the conclusion that 1. I am showing you how I where camo 2. I am giving you an insight into where to purchase camo and purchase it CHEAP.
So with most of my outfits I like to go alittle over the top and for that reason I decided to layer as much as the print as possible.. well as much as I could get my hands on and I also kept similar colour tones in mind (green, brown, yellow etc). To begin with I wore a camo jacket, t-shirt and backpack and I then put on a pair of mustard shorts that just peaked out the bottom. Then wore a pair of nature themed printed socks and my 2” creepers. Finally I wrapped a gold chain around my neck and wore a vintage 90’s supreme cap, very Brooklyn circa 1994. I have also bought a vintage brown fur just incase the forecast is not in my favour. The fur once again adds alittle ghetto (HA) to the overall look.
Now for the interesting part, where to get camo- I have found that heaps of op-shops have the ever so popular print hint*- check out the uniform section if there is one. And as for buying cam new the best and least expensive place to find it is Aussie Disposals. If you don’t live in Australia any other Outdoors shop should do the trick. They stock everything in the print EVERYTHING. Once again I do know I definitely did not re-ignight the camo craze but I hope you enjoy the post regardless.
